Borgio Verezzi is a treasure trove of uncontaminated habitats (sea, olive groves, vineyards, almond trees) and listless artistic resources. Borgio is the coastal settlement, its narrow alleys coiling up to the beautiful 18th century church of San Pietro, whereas Verezzi is set high on the hillside (200 mts.), a Saracen defensive hamlet boasting the most scenic of views (a 5-minute drive along sharp hairpin bends from the sea) and (since 1967) a renowned Summer Theatre Festival. Miss nots include the intriguing caves of the Rio Valdemino, explored in 1933 by three young locals who left their signature on the grotte’s walls. A 700-metre track shows stalagmites, stalactites and remains of Prehistoric fauna.
